【Taipei, Taiwan】 Started in early 2015, the MSI PRO MOD is an established hallowed battleground for global modding masters. MSI invites worldwide modders to show their passion, professionalism, creativity and craft to the world through on-line competition.

This year, we are proud to form a partnership with DCMM, the International German Casemod Championship organised by planetlan GmbH since 2002. The online regional qualifiers will be hosted under MSI PRO MOD Season 4 starting in May. The main theme for this year’s competition is “RGB”, which is chosen with the intention of giving entrants free rein to interpret it as widely as they like. The judging panel, comprising representatives from MSI and professionals from the DCMM, will select the winners based on each entry’s relevance to the chosen theme, creativity, overall design, technique and worklog.

The first place from each regional qualifiers (EU, NALA, APAC and China), will advance to the DCMM Championship in Cologne, Germany. Final worklog of all participants must be submitted by July 17, 2016. The winners will be announced in Aug 01^st, 2016, with eleven prizes awarded from $1500 to $5,500. Moreover, both MSI and DCMM will offer additional travel allowance and standard accommodation for the whole duration of the final competition. You will get chance to take home an incredible grand prize!

Di penghujung minggu pertama Mei 2016, kado kejutan dari NVIDIA akhirnya dibuka. Yap, isinya tidak lain adalah dua jagoan terbaru dari NVIDIA di kelas high end – GeForce GTX 1080 dan GTX 1070. Teknologi generasi terbaru tentu saja telah menunggu di dalam graphics card GeForce 1000 Series tersebut. Implementasi arsitektur GPU Pascal 1st Generation sebagai penerus Maxwell 2nd Generation, mengecilnya proses fabrikasi dari 28 nm menjadi 16 nm FinFET, penggunaan tipe memori GDDR5X dengan bandwidth lebih tinggi dibandingkan GDDR5 adalah sejumlah daya tarik yang ditawarkan NVIDIA kali ini. Tidak sampai disitu saja, klaim performa dari NVIDIA bahkan menyebutkan jika satu GeForce GTX 1080, lebih kencang dibandingkan TITAN X – kasta tertinggi graphics card dengan basis GPU Maxwell 2nd Generation atau dua GTX 980 SLI.

Otak di balik GeForce GTX 1080 tidak lain adalah chip GPU GP104 dengan 7,2 milyar transistor dan 2560 CUDA Cores di dalamnya. Pada GTX 1080, bus width sebesar 256-bit menghubungkan chip GPU dan memoriGDDR5X berkapasitas 8192 MB. Chip GPU pada GTX 1080 bekerja pada base clock speed 1607 MHz danturbo clock speed 1703 MHz. Sementara itu chip memori bekerja pada clock speed 10 GHz (efektif) sehingga mampu menghasilkan bandwidth memory mencapai 320 GBps. Menariknya pada sesi demo acara perkenalan graphics card ini, GTX 1080 dengan mudah “berlari” pada kecepatan 2144 MHz (GPU) dan 11116 MHz (MEM) dengan temperatur kerja hanya 67 °C dengan menggunakan sistem pendingin reference tipe air cooling. Tentu saja hal tersebut membuat kami “terbelalak” mengingat graphics card Maxwell membutuhkan pendingin ekstrim liquid nitrogen dan parameter setting “tidak biasa” untuk mencapainya. Tidak sampai disitu saja, kemampuan GTX 1080 tersebut dicapai hanya menggunakan satu konektor daya PCIe 8-pin dengan kebutuhan minimum power supply sebesar 500 Watt. Bahkan GTX 1080 hanya memiliki nilai graphics card power sebesar 180 Watt, jauh lebih rendah dibandingkan GTX 980 Ti dan TITAN X dengan 250 Watt.

Sisi bawah PCB GeForce GTX 1080 dilengkapi lempengan logam backplate yang terbagi menjadi dua bagian.

GeForce GTX 1080 juga datang dengan standar konektivitas display masa depan seperti tiga konektor Display Port 1.4 dengan dukungan teknologi HDR dan mampu menghadirkan resolusi gambar 7680×4320 @60 Hz. Terdapat pula satu konektor HDMI 2.0b dan Dual Link DVI-D.

NVIDIA menetapkan dua kisaran harga jual untuk GeForce GTX 1080 yaitu $599 dan $699 untuk Founder Edition. GTX 1080 saat ini memang belum dijual resmi di pasaran dan akan mulai menjejakkan kakinya pada 27 Mei 2016 medatang. Akan tetapi siapa menyangka jika sejumlah produsen graphics card mulai memajang produk jagoan mereka yang akan siap “menggempur” pasaran pada akhir bulan ini. Di gelombang awal, tampaknya para produsen akan melepas produk GeForce GTX 1080 Founder Edition dan akan menyusul versi lainnya di minggu-minggu atau bulan-bulan berikutnya. G.SKILL Introduces 5 New Color Schemes to Trident Z Series DDR4 Memory

Taipei, Taiwan (6 May 2016) – G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd., the world’s leading manufacturer of extreme performance memory and gaming peripherals, is introducing 5 new color schemes to the highly popular extreme performance Trident Z series to select specifications. Aside from the classic Trident Z design of silver and black brushed aluminum heatspreader with a red top-bar highlight, the new color schemes include a black brushed aluminum body paired with orange, yellow, or white top-bar or a silver brushed aluminum body with white or black top-bar.

With a rise in popularity of modding and cases with window designs, these 5 new Trident Z color schemes are developed for enthusiasts, gamers, and modders who not only wish to include high performance memory in their systems, but also to add attractive visual appeal and show off their unique selection of hardware. Available in yellow, orange, white, and black highlights, these new color schemes pair exceedingly well with modern motherboard designs based on the X99 and Z170 chipsets.
